Hao Yu

Cinematographer

Hao Yu is a Shanghai-born freelance cinematographer with a passion for captivating visuals. He jet-setted to the U.S., earning a master's degree in film production with a focus on cinematography from Chapman University's Dodge College. Hao's work extends to scripted TV shows, commercials, indie films and music videos. His journey began with award-winning student works that included projects recognized by the Oscars. During the pandemic, Hao worked as a camera operator on "Robot Chicken" Season 11, which later received an Emmy nomination. The work and skills have also earned the appreciation of prestigious clients like Apple Music and Netflix for him.
Hao currently is also member of Local 600, the International Cinematographers guild.
